Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric and Child Clinical Psychology

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric and Clinical Child Psychology

St. Mary’s Center for Children has an opening for a one-year postdoctoral fellowship.  Starting date is flexible between July 1st and September 10th, 2015.

The fellow will receive advanced, onsite training in the evaluation, assessment, and treatment of youth with a variety of issues.  Focus is placed on using evidence-based methods of assessment and treatment, and work within larger multi-disciplinary teams.  More specific training will be provided within specialty areas of autism spectrum disorders, disruptive behaviors in young children, and pediatric consultation/liaison. The fellow will be supervised by licensed pediatric psychologists
The fellow will also work closely in providing ongoing evaluation and treatment for children on the autism spectrum.  Ongoing collaboration with Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center and group social skills training will be part of this experience. A component of the training will also involve integration of behavioral health consultation into a family practice on campus. Further training with pediatric consult and liaison services, including within the context of an accredited pediatric trauma program, would also be part of the training year.  In addition, the fellow would also be imbedded for a part of the experience in an innovative, community-based early childhood program within the local school district.  Depending on the fellow’s level of interest, opportunities for exposure to treatment of pediatric feeding problems within the trans-disciplinary Pediatric Feeding Program may also be available. Significant opportunities would be possible to partner with this and other local agencies in providing coordinated services within the community.
Regular didactic activities would be available.  Opportunities for supervision and ongoing research would be provided.
