Post-Doctoral Opportunity at Deaconess Health System in Evansville, Indiana

The Deaconess Family Medicine Residency Program (DFMR) in Evansville,
Indiana offers a Postdoctoral Residency position for individuals
interested in providing integrated behavioral health and psychological
assessment and treatment services. The Residency serves a diverse and
underserved population of individuals across the lifespan.  Culturally
sensitive services are provided to patients of the Residency and
include opportunities for behavioral medicine, diagnostic evaluation,
psychological testing, individual psychotherapy, group programs, and
integrated behavioral health psychology services.  Opportunities for
consultation, research and program development are also available to
the motivated resident. While the Residency serves patients across the
lifespan, a strong emphasis on childhood developmental and
neuropsychological testing services is offered.

Under weekly supervision with a licensed clinical psychologist
(Indiana HSPP), the Postdoctoral Resident is given the opportunity to
develop skills toward independent psychology practice and licensure.
DFMR integrates a variety of psychological assessment techniques and
evidence-based treatment interventions. The Postdoctoral Resident is
engaged in developing and delivering individualized treatment
approaches for patients in a highly collaborative team environment
alongside primary care medical residents. Postdoctoral Psychology
Residents will co-train with Family Medicine Residents and work
collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including nursing,
health coaches, and social workers, to provide the best care to
patients.

DFMR is committed to the training of high-quality health practitioners
within the context of the 4,000+ employee Deaconess Health System. As
such, the Postdoctoral Resident will have extensive opportunities for
participation in didactic learning, system-sponsored conferences,
intensive case conferences, and access to the medical resource
library.

This 12-month position may be renewed for an additional 12-month
cycle.  Qualifications required include:

·        A doctoral degree (Ph.D./Psy.D.) from an APA-Accredited
program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.

·        Successful completion of an APA-accredited or APPIC-member internship.

·        Dedicated interest in primary care psychology/integrated
behavioral medicine or child/adolescent psychology.

·        Experience and formal coursework in psychotherapy with
children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and in the
administration, scoring and interpretation of intellectual,
educational and objective/projective personality testing of children
and/or adults.

·        Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills and
strong clinical skills in diagnosis, assessment, and therapy.
